Question
Why there is a firmware upgrade failure message in "Maintenance" page after camera upgrade
Answer
In firmware 2.2002.23.01x VIVOTEK implemented a function called "ForceUpgrade" which will clear the flash memory (internal camera memory) to release some space so that the firmware can unpack correctly before upgrading the device.
In order to allow customers know about this function, a notice is showed in the System > Maintenance > Upgrade firmware as follows:
This message is just a notice telling users that if the upgrade actually failed they can use the "ForceUpgrade" function, it DOES NOT mean that the camera upgrade failed. We apologize if the wording of the message creates any confusion, in future firmware releases we will change the sentence structure to avoid any kind of confusion.
