Question
What to do if the camera cannot upgrade the firmware
Answer
The camera firmware upgrade process is very delicate, you need to be sure that you are using the correct file and that the camera is constantly provided with power. If the camera cannot do a firmware upgrade, please check the following points:
1. Check that the firmware uploaded is for that specific model:
Be sure that the firmware used to upgrade correspond to the camera, If the model name and firmware file do not match, the camera wont upgrade.
2. Check that the correct version is being uploaded:
Be sure that the firmware used is not older that the firmware version already installed in the camera. For example, if the camera is using a firmware version 0203c (See image below), you will need to install a higher version (e.g 0102a).
If an earlier version was used to upgrade you will find the following error,
3. Check the camera logs for errors:
If there is any issues with the camera, you should be able to see and specific upgrade log. You can access these logs by going to System > Logs > System log.
4. Check if the camera can be upgraded using the Shepherd application:
If the camera cannot be upgraded using the web browser, you can use the Shepherd application to upgrade the camera instead.
If after checking the points mentioned above you are still unable to upgrade the camera, please contact Technical Support for assistance.
