The VAST2 software features a function that allows you to create system debug reports in case there is a problem with the system. These files will need to be sent to VIVOTEK Technical Support for further analysis and verification of the problem at hand.
But what can be done if the VAST2 User Interface cannot be accessed? (e.g., UI crash, Server errors, system freeze). In the following tutorial, we will explain how to extract the files without accessing the User Interface.
Opening the Log collection (Analytics Report)
The feedback tool is actually an independent tool that is opened through the interface, but it is not part of the interface itself, so you can run it without opening VAST2. In order to run it, please follow the next steps:
Step 1. Go to the VAST2 installation folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\VIVOTEK Inc\VAST\Client\VAST2
Step 2. In the folder, locate the "AnalyticsReport.exe" application file.
Step 3. Double-click to run the application and wait until the feedback application is opened.
Once you have opened the application, just fill in the details, select the log range, and extract the logs of the VAST2 server. If you are not familiar with the procedure, please follow the instructions in the following article:
