Typically, the model name of a VIVOTEK camera is set as the device's default name.
However, this name can be changed, and over time, it may become difficult to recall the original model name. Nevertheless, there are alternative methods to ascertain the model name. Please refer to the following procedures for guidance.
System Parameters
The first place you can find the camera model name is in the device's system parameters. To access this page, you need to go to the camera configuration page. Then, click on 'System' > 'Parameters' and look for the following parameter: system_info_modelname (this is the actual camera model name).
Camera Sticker
Every single camera has its own identifying sticker, you can find the device model name printed on it.
Shepherd Application
If you know the camera's IP address, you can use the Shepherd application to locate it. Simply enter the camera's IP address, and the application will search for it on the network. Once found, it will display all the basic information of the device, including its model name.
VAST Security Station
If the camera has been added to VAST2 or the VAST Security Station, you can simply hover your mouse over its name, and the software will display the model name.
ND Series (Linux NVR)
If the camera has been added to an ND Series Linux NVR, you can go to 'Camera' > 'Management' and click on the device. Then, check the 'Model' parameter to find the camera's model name.
