This guide explains how to add a VIVOTEK camera to the Genetec Security Center:
1. Launch the Genetec "Configuration Tool" by clicking on the following icon.
This icon is typically located on the "Desktop" after installing the software.
2. Once the application opens, log in using your server username and password.
3. In the 'Config Tool', navigate to the 'Video' section. Then, right-click on the 'Archiver' and select 'Add an entity > Video unit' to add a device.
4. In the 'Add Video Unit' wizard, select the 'Genetec protocol' and input the camera's IP address along with the HTTP port configured on the device. Then, choose the 'Authentication' scheme as 'Specific' and enter the camera's root username and password.
The default HTTP port for VIVOTEK cameras is 80, but you can double-check using the VIVOTEK Shepherd discovery tool to verify the camera's HTTP access port.
Alternatively, access the camera’s configuration web interface, navigate to Network > Streaming protocols > HTTP, and check the value set for the HTTP port.
5. Click on the "Add" button and wait until the camera status changes to 'Added'.
