What characters are allowed when setting the camera name on the VSS?

Answer

In VSS, the camera names can include the following characters: [0-9], [a-z], [A-Z], [-], and [.]. In addition, spaces or periods [.] cannot be used as the last character. If you accidentally type unsupported characters or add an extra space at the end of the name, the software will prompt the following error:

"Invalid device name. Characters allowed: [0-9], [a-z], [A-Z], [-], [.]. Space or [.] cannot be the last character."
