How to upgrade the MegaRaid Storage Manager firmware
Answer
Check the firmware.
Check if the firmware used in the MegaRaid Storage Manager is the latest. To check the firmware version please follow the next steps:
- Open the application by clicking on the “Raid Config” in the Control Center of the NR9X81.
- Select your host (should be listed as below) then click the login button.
- In the login window use the username as “vivotek” and leave the password in blank. Note: if you set a password for the Windows OS you will need to use it in order to access.
- Click on the “Logical” tab and select the volume.
- In the “Properties” section check the Firmware version > Firmware properties.
Download the latest firmware using the following link:
In the folder you will find the following files:
- Download the latest firmware.
- Extract the 4.680.00-8290 in a folder of convenience.
Important Note: this file will be changed each time there is a new firmware release. - In the MegaRaid Storage Manager, select the “Logical” tab.
- Right click on Supermicro MegaRAID controller to be updated and click Update Controller Firmware.
- Click Browse to search for new firmware.
- Select the new MegaRAID controller firmware.
- Click OK to continue.
- Check the “Confirm” box and click OK to continue.
*** Wait for around 1~2 minutes to complete
Note: if the device is connected to WAN you can also download online, for that please check the “Confirm” option when the following message appears.
- Click OK once firmware update completed.
- Close the MegaRaid Storage Manager and reboot the system.
- Check firmware version using MegaRaid Storage Manager in OS.
