Question
I want to connect an alarm to the digital output (DO) of NVR, to let DO trigger the alarm. What is the maximum value of the voltage and amperage that NVR can take on the DO?
Answer
Please note first that the DO of the NVR is acting like a relay, or you can call it Dry contact, which operates like a switch. Therefore, it either opens or closes. The relay itself doesn't provide any intrinsic power to the contact, and the power is always being supplied by another source.
When we connect an alarm with power supply inside the alarm, we need to make sure the value of the voltage and amperage that the NVR can take so that no accident will occur.
The maximum value of the voltage and amperage is:
DO rating value: Through relay ( 60 VDC 1A, 125 VAC )
For Digital Input:
DI rating value: Maximum can stand 30V
In DI, only voltage value is needed to trigger NVR, because DI acts like a button.
