Question
I added 3 IB9387-H cameras into my ND9312, and I rotated one of the cameras in order to show the corridor in my house. When I tried to check the playback videos on the NVR local side, the playback videos of the cameras without rotating showed normally, but when I checked the playback videos of the camera with rotated, it showed "Exceed decoding limitation" in the monitor.
Why NVR shows "Exceed decoding limitation"?
Why NVR shows "Exceed decoding limitation"?
Answer
This is because the resolution width or height of the camera streaming exceeds the decoder limitation. Here we take the ND9312 as an example.
The decoding resolution and decoding capability can be found on our website: https://www.vivotek.com/nd9312#specifications
Suppose you are using an IB9387-H with streaming resolution 2560x1920. Once rotated, the resolution will become 1920x2560, and the resolution height "2560" will exceed the height limitation of decoder "2160". Therefore, the warning message "Exceed decoding limitation" will show up.
If you want to decode resolution height 2560, you may need to use other Linux-based NVR models like ND9541, which can decode up to 4096 on H.265 and 8192 on H.264. https://www.vivotek.com/nd9541#videos
