What to do if VIVOTEK camera cannot be added to Genetec Security Center?
Answer
1. Check that security protocols are properly configured in the camera.
After version 5.3 of Genetec Security Center, cameras must have their security protocols for RTSP and the HTTP protocol set to "digest mode" instead of "basic mode". To verify this setting, please go to the camera configuration web interface and access:

Once the proper authentication scheme is configured, please try adding the device again.
2. Check that the camera can be accessed through the internet.
If the camera has no network connection, the server won't be able to add it. Please follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the following guide to verify the camera's network status:
