QUESTION
What is the camera Ethernet speed and how to check it?
ANSWER
Usually when a camera connects to a switch, there will be a process called auto-negotiation in which the switch and the camera will set the Ethernet transfer speed between them (See camera_switch autonegotiation.PNG ).
All VIVOTEK cameras can auto-negotiate, so when the camera connects to the switch it will automatically start the auto negotiation process and inform to the switch the Ethernet speed needed for data transfer. The camera default Ethernet speed is 100MB Full-duplex.
To verify the Ethernet speed of the camera you can use the following cgi command:
http://<CAM IP>/cgi-bin/admin/getparam.cgi?status_eth_i0
