What are the benefits of adding Linux-based NVRs as substation in VAST2?

There are two ways to connect Linux-based NVRs with VAST/VAST2: Typing NVR IP address when login with liveclient to connect NVR directly or adding NVR as substation.
Both VAST and VAST2 can add Linux-based NVRs as substation, but only VAST liveclient can login ND series as client. The VAST2 does not support directly connect to ND series NVR. This is current spec design.
However, adding the ND series NVR as the substation in VAST2 can do more things than using Liveclient to login.
It is recommended to manage the NVR as the substation instead of login directly. Please refer the comparison table below.
