[VAST2][1.12.1.5] Can't login and the words can't be displayed

 

DESCRIPTION

A customer find VAST2 can't login and the words can't be displayed on his Windows 10 PC, as shown below:

 

ROOT CAUSE

Every time when VAST2 is excuted, VAST2 will try to install a font on PC.
If the fonts is installed failed, there is no words can't be displayed and can't login.
In Win10, if the firewall is turned off, some application like fonts can't be installed because of security concern.

 

SOLUTION

It's a known issue on Windows 10.
Please follow below steps to turn on Firewall Service:

1. Go to Search, type "services.msc", and open Services
2. Look for Windows Firewall
3. Right-click on it, and choose Restart
4. Wait until the process is finished
5. Now, right-click on Windows Firewall, and go to Properties
6. Make sure Startup type: is set to Automatic
