Question
How to do if the deleted camera still occupies VAST2 license?
Answer
If the option “Also delete devices from system permanently” is disabled when you delete a camera, the “deleted” camera will still stay in VAST2 to occupy license even if you don’t see the camera in VAST2.
In order to avoid occupying license by the “deleted” camera, please follow below steps to completely remove the camera from VAST2:
1. Go to the VAST2 Configuration > Device management > Cameras.
2. Click on the server group edit button.
3. Click on the “Add ungrouped device from device list" icon.
4. The “deleted” cameras that are still added to the server will appear.
5. Select them all and click the “Move Selected items” icon.
6. Click the “VMS_Station” folder (or the folder designated by user).
7. The “deleted” cameras will be automatically added, and then click on the “Done” button to save the changes.
8. After that, the “deleted” cameras will be displayed again in the camera list.
9. Select the cameras and delete them by selecting “Also delete device from system permanently".
