How do I receive Facial Recognition events from the camera in the Network Optix Video Management Software?

Answer

Before configuring event rules for a Facial Recognition (FR) camera in the Network Optix (Nx) Video Management Software, please make sure that the VIVOTEK Plus plugin is correctly installed.

Once the plugin setup is complete, follow the steps below to configure the Facial Recognition events in the Nx server: 

Step 1. Add the camera to the Nx server by right-clicking on the server and selecting Add > Device.

Step 2. Enter the following information to locate and add the camera:

• Address: IP address of the camera
• Login: Camera username (default: root)
• Password: Camera password

Step 3. Select the desired camera from the list and add it to the server. 

Step 4. After the camera is added, click the navigation icon and go to System Administration.

Step 5. Navigate to General > Event Rules.

Step 6. Click +Add to create a new event rule. Configure the rule as follows and click Apply.

• When: Analytics Object Detected
• At: FD9387-FR-V3
• Object Type: VIVOTEK Facial Recognition
• Action: For testing, select Show desktop notification

Step 7. Once the configuration is complete, Facial Recognition events will begin appearing on Network Optix server.
