Question
How to estimate general bandwidth consumption?
Answer
Bandwidth consumption
= Streaming bit rate + background (metadata) bit rate
Estimate. bit rate per access(VORTEX camera)
Example of VORTEX camera
As shown in the table above,
FD639(2MP camera) at 80% (busy street scene) requires 0.6 Mbps per access.
IB837(5MP camera) at 80% (busy street scene) requires 1.2 Mbps per access.
Therefore,
One operator viewing 10 cameras = 0.6*5 + 1.2*5 = 9Mbps
Two operators viewing 10 cameras = 9*2 =18Mbps
Example of VORTEX Connect
Bandwidth consumption
= Streaming bit rate + background (metadata) bit rate
One operator viewing 8 cameras = (2000*8)+(30*8) = ~16 Mbps
Two operators viewing 8 cameras = (2000*8*2)+(30*8) = ~32 Mbps
Note:
• Ignoring the bandwidth consumption of archiving
• Cloud storage backup enabled on the schedule user sets; the bandwidth consumed by cloud backup occurs within the scheduled window.
