Question
Why do I see a "Reached connection limit" message when accessing live view or playback on the VORTEX portal or app?
Answer
The VORTEX system uses peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming to deliver video directly from the VORTEX device to your browser or mobile app. Due to hardware limitations, each device can only support a limited number of simultaneous connections.
These limits apply collectively to both live view and playback.
For Essential Cameras, the connection limits are as follows:
A maximum of 4 simultaneous streaming connections (live or playback combined)
A maximum of 2 playback sessions at any given time
For Premium Cameras, the connection limits are as follows:
A maximum of 6 simultaneous streaming connections (live or playback combined)
A maximum of 3 playback sessions at any given time
For NVRs, the connection limits are as follows:
Each NVR can support up to 32 video streams in total, regardless of whether those streams are live or playback.
For example, if you view 4 channels from the NVR, it will count as 4 streams. If you view 8 channels, it will count as 8 streams.
Viewing multiple channels across different devices (e.g., web portal and mobile app) will add to the total stream count. For example, viewing 4 channels on one device and 4 on another will count as 8 streams.
