Question
How to set up temperature alarm on my thermal camera?
Answer
Thermal cameras offer several types of alarms that can be configured based on your specific needs. Please refer to the instructions below for setting up each alarm type.
Before using this function, ensure that the temperature measurement settings are properly configured. To enable Highest Temperature, Lowest Temperature, and Average Temperature, please follow these steps:
Go to:
Thermal → Settings → Area Temperature Type → Select Highest Temperature &Lowest Temperature& Average Temperature → Apply
After enabling this function, you will be able to view three different temperature readings, as shown in the example screenshot.
You may then configure the alarm types as described below:
Temperature Difference Alarm
Definition:
This alarm is triggered when the difference between the highest temperature and the average temperature exceeds a setting value.
If the difference exceeds the warning value, a warning is triggered.
If the difference exceeds the alarm value, an alarm is triggered.
Example:
Average temperature: 30°C
Highest temperature: 50°C
Temperature difference: 20°C
If:
Warning value = 15°C → Warning is triggered
Alarm value = 18°C → Alarm is triggered
Notice : The warning value cannot greater than the alarm value.Threshold Alarm
Definition:
This alarm is triggered when the highest temperature exceeds a setting value.
If the temperature exceeds the warning value, a warning is triggered.
If the temperature exceeds the alarm value, an alarm is triggered.
Example:
Highest temperature: 55°C
If:
Warning threshold = 50°C → Warning is triggered
Alarm threshold = 60°C → No Alarm is triggeredSection Alarm
Definition:
This alarm is triggered when the highest temperature falls within a predefined temperature range.
Example:
Section range: 50°C to 60°C
Highest temperature: 52°C
A section alarm is triggered because the highest temperature falls within the defined range.
For the section alarm you should set up alarm value and maximum alarm.
Temperature Rise Alarm
Definition:
This alarm is triggered if the rising temperature value is more than the set value in the duration time.
If the highest temperature increase value exceeds the warning value, a warning is triggered.
If the highest temperature increase value exceeds the alarm value, an alarm is triggered.
Example:
Initial highest temperature: 30°C
Highest temperature: 48°C
Temperature rise: 18°C
If:
Warning value = 10°C → Warning is triggered
Alarm value = 15°C → Alarm is triggered
For different application scenarios, users may select the most suitable alarm type to ensure the thermal alarm function works effectively and reliably.
After selecting the appropriate alarm type and completing the settings, please make sure to enable the alarm and click Apply. Otherwise, the alarm will not be triggered.
To enable the alarm, please slide the alarm button on the bar below to the right.
When a temperature warning or alarm is triggered, the OSD will display Temp Alarm on the live view.
To check which alarm type has been triggered, please click the Alarm button. The system will display the alarm trigger time.
