How to set a Windows PC as an NTP server for cameras?

Brief Introduction
This article provides instructions applicable to both Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems.
- Open the Windows command prompt.
- Issue the following command to stop the Windows time service: net stop w32time.
- Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type
regedit, then click OK to launch the Registry Editor.
- Navigate to:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters - Right-click, choose New, and then select DWORD (32-bit) Value. Create a DWORD (32-bit) Value named LocalNTP — or double-click it if it already exists — and set its value to 1.
- Navigate to:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpServer - Double-click Enabled and set its value to 1.
- Navigate to:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config - Double-click AnnounceFlags and set its value to 5.
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Issue the following command in Command Prompt to start the Windows Time Service: net start w32time
- Close the Windows command prompt.
Note:
On the camera side, please enter the PC’s IP address and configure it as the NTP server.
